During her live interview on “The Buzz,” Karylle said she was so stressed that she had a body massage twice in one day to get rid of her negative emotions. On Sunday morning, she also jogged 5 kilometers to make herself feel better, she added.
Karylle admitted that “there was an accident” when she was performing on stage along with Yeng Constantino, Arnel Pineda and Vina Morales during the Boracay episode of musical variety show “ASAP XV” last March 21.
She, however, clarified that contrary to what was published in tabloids and posted online it was a “very minor” incident.
The controversial photo showed Karylle with one of her breasts exposed. In her interview with The Philippine Star, Karylle maintained that the photo was doctored.
On “The Buzz” Sunday, she said she wore something underneath to protect herself.
“Sometimes, you’re singing and you’re so in the moment that you become careless. And naisip ko lang, I was singing with Arnel Pineda and I was so happy. First time kong to be on the same stage with him, I was really singing. And sobrang pasalamat ko talaga na I protected myself and wore something underneath,” she said.
She said she was grateful that she has her family and friends to help her cope with the controversy.
Karylle admitted that she was surprised by the reaction of her mom, Zsa Zsa Padilla, who tweeted this: “My heart is bleeding. How can people be so heartless.”
Karylle said: “She’s been trying to be cool and calm about it. Boracay pa lang we already knew about it (incident), pero it was very minor… ‘yong lumabas ang mga picture, the worst that you can expect has happened. Medyo doon nakita ko na nag-weaken ng konti when she was trying to be brave all the time.”
The Boracay show of “ASAP XV” was the same event when Karylle’s fellow host, Anne Curtis, had a so-called wardrobe malfunction.
Legal remedies
Meanwhile, lawyers Marichu Lambino and Neri Colmenares said Karylle can pursue a case against tabloid newspapers that altered and published her photo.
Both Lambino and Colmenares agreed that the publication of Karylle’s photo is not covered by the constitutional right to freedom of the press.
“May cause of action si Karylle kasi parang walang newsworthiness ang isang headline na ‘yon. Tapos parang doctored siya.. pwedeng may malice doon sa pag-publish,” Colmenares said.
